Deadline for Abstract Submission: 30th June 2024 at 23:59 (MYT)

Abstract submissions are welcome for the following categories:

  • Surgical
  • Medical
  • Oral Presentation
  • Poster Presentation
  • Young Investigator Award (oral presentation only)
  • When submitting abstracts, presenters may indicate their preferred mode of presentation, either oral or poster.
  • As the slots for oral presentation are limited, not all submissions for oral presentation will automatically be accepted. Selection will be done by a panel of experts based strictly on scientific merits of the abstract.
  • Abstracts not selected for oral presentations will be automatically considered for poster presentation.

  1. Preparation of a poster is not required for abstracts accepted for oral presentation.
  2. Abstracts are subjected to approval by the Scientific Committee.
  3. Authors will receive email notification of abstract acceptance/rejection via email by 22nd July 2024.
  4. Presenting authors must register for the congress by 31st July 2024.

  1. Language: All abstracts must be written in English.
  2. Each author is permitted to present more than one abstract.
  3. Deadline for submission: Abstracts must be submitted through the online submission system by 30th June 2024 at 23:59 (MYT). Late submissions will not be considered. Abstracts submitted by post, fax or email will not be considered.
  4. The title should be brief but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the abstract. Please include the authors’ name, and the name of the institution where the work was undertaken. The body of the abstract should be no more than 350 words.
  5. Please adhere to the following format:  
    • Authors/affiliations
    • Background and aim
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
    • All headings must be in UPPERCASE 
  6. The abstract submitted should not have yet been published or presented elsewhere. The accepted abstracts will be published as a supplementary edition of MJPCH.

  1. At the time of presentation, the presenter must be below 40 years of age.
  2. The first author listed must be the presenter.
  3. The first author must have contributed significantly to the conception, design, data acquisition and interpretation of the study.
  4. Original research from any country are welcome.
  5. Abstracts from countries outside Malaysia must be related to paediatric surgery. Abstracts from Malaysia may include general paediatrics.
